Well, that's the car off to Tornado for its IVA. Andy has submitted the paperwork. We'll have to wait 4 weeks for the date and this could be another 4-6 weeks till we get the IVA test day. Meantime Andy is supplying and fitting the exhaust and drive shafts, then running the car for the first time.

Ian has asked us to fit an exhaust system, driveshafts and a pair of our Gurney Eagle valve covers.

As far as the IVA goes it will just be the usual. There are always several items the builder has over looked.

Thanks

Andy

I've just read through this build, you have done a really great job Ian.
Good luck with the SVA and look forward to seeing the finished item.

We now have an IVA test date……25th September. There was a slight delay in getting the date from the test centre due to a small administrative error their part, but now all sorted.

Meantime, a photo of the exhaust that Andy has supplied and is fitting for me…….

Andy has been beavering away fitting the exhaust, the heat shield, and the drive shafts for me, as well as a number of other odd jobs to prepare the car for the IVA in two weeks’ time. He has also made the final fit of the Gurney valve covers plus he is making up and fitting an oil catch tank to the covers. Tomorrow the car will be started.

Well, the car went for its IVA today, some photos attached. It failed, but only on a few things most of which have already been sorted by Andy. The vacuum produced by the Weber IDA’s is making the accelerator pedal a little stiff and this was the main failure item. Andy is trying to sort this so that it can be offered for a quick retest on Friday. All things being well and good, hopefully by Friday we have a car that has passed its IVA…….

Ian, I'm jealous,.... well now you have a very short list of things to do. What are the mirrors fitted, they look like extended (raised) crossfire ones, is this what Andy uses to pass the rear view requirements?

I also notice you have 'polycarbonate' covers on the headlight apertures, are these E marked, if so, where did you get the polycarbonate?

Major milestone.......the car passed its IVA yesterday:pepper:

The car is being picked up for delivery back to me next week, then I can get the paperwork together and get the car registered. There is a list of jobs I need to work through, but now I can relax and get these done at my leisure.

Yee ha.........
