Can you guys show me some of the different center consoles/shift plate/reverse lock-out that you have come up with for your GT40s??
I am re-doing mine and I would like some ideas for a new one.

Thanks!

Here you go. It isn't really a great picture but my console is very similar to Chuck and Ryan's.

Here's mine. most of it is just a piece of aluminum that I bent over a pipe. The front part I made out of fiberglass. I had a local shop upholster it.

Have not yet made a shift plate. That is on the B list. I am leaning towards a simple polished aluminum plate with a square cut out held in place with four SS screws. Something clean but mechanical looking, Not sure whether to add a boot or not.

Ron, we met at RA, I was with Mike T., Mike D., Daryl and Kirby. I have a coupe cnc's and itching to come up with a different type gate. I like the Ferrari slotted gates and have a couple we could use for patterns. Are you thinking of something like this? Did you see Mike Trustys shifter? Dennis Olthoff made this special for Peterson's car. Let me know if I can help.

Being Canadian "eh" we must have a cup holder for our national drink, Tim Hortons coffee! Here's our first right hand drive, right hand shift car suitably equipped... with an accessory jack for the radar detector.

Ian,
That looks very nice! It reminds me of the early "Road Coupes" center consoles. Is that a starter button in the center that I see?

Nope Garry, that's the 12v jack for your cellphone, gps, radar detector, air pump for the inflatable doll etc. Thanks for the compliment btw:)

I want a cup holder! Funny some people laugh at me but I am serious! I will make something that fits in the passenger door to hold water, coffee or M&Ms on long trips. Its easy to reach over and grab from the drivers side. Who said a race car can't have creature comforts? My wife and I got up Sunday morning and I told her I would like some pancakes from IHOP, so we jumped in the 40 and off we went to the big city (12k people) which is 20 miles away, I couldn't take my coffee with me. On the way back we stopped at Lowes and got a gallon of paint and two lawn mower blades, with her purse thats about the limit of a SPF GT40! And she a little person. Cup holder in the console is a great idea!

Jack,

Thanks very much for the offer but I have a very talented machinist ( John with the white ,w/blue/red stripes,SPF from RA) who has already offered to help me out with this project. He has helped me out with several small projects already and his work is top notch!
We already have a fairly good idea of what I want but I wanted to see what other people came up with .

I have a gated shifter in my Pantera much like you describe . That is not what I was after. I want something very close to what SPF has in their cars.

I didn't get to see Mike's shifter. Maybe he can post a few pictures of it??? (hint, hint ;) )

Thanks to everyone who has posted here! I think I like every one of them better than what I came up with for my car on the first try.

Keep them coming!
