So it looks like Kimi will be at Mclaren? Wherever he ends up I hope he kicks Fernando's arse.

<HR style="COLOR: #dedcd7; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #dedcd7" SIZE=1> KIMI gets 45million euro to leave early.<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->
According to Finland's leading newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. That consists of of his full 2010 salary of €30 million and an early termination penalty of €15 million. Reportedly Kimi held out for €65 million until the very end. The remaining €20 million is likely to be his salary from McLaren if the deal gets inked. Poor Kimi. No wonder he is so sad

Those figures aren't just faintly ridiculous but monstrously ridiculous! Even Schuey who demonstrably added value to the Ferrari brand wasn't worth what he got (really no one in any field of endeavour is worth this level of salary) but at least you could see some point to a monster salary for him. But not Kimi.

That's mad. Totally and utterly mad and sums up what is wrong with F1. Makes you wonder what Teflonso will be getting...

Guys at the back of the field taking the same (if not more) risks are probably getting probably less than 5% of that. The lacklustre performance of Ferrari is not just down to Raikonnen - Fisichella can't get it going either and he's no slouch...

I'm waiting for one of these bozos to do an Ayrton Senna, i.e. offer to drive for free!

Some guys at the back of the field may well be driving for free and actually paying I.E. bringing sponsors money to the team.
Senna bought over a $million to the team to get his first drive.

From his interview with MTV3 at Suzuka. Only the most relevant bits are translated:

- Very few actually know what has happened. There really aren’t that many. It is assumed that I have done something wrong because the contract was terminated.

- There is one big reason why it ended and it has nothing to do with my driving or with my activities within the team or outside of it. It is a totally different reason.

Is it related to Santander bank becoming a Ferrari sponsor and the bank’s desire to get Fernando Alonso as a driver?

- That could be. There are no contracts in existence that cannot be terminated with money. That happens sometimes. It does not change my life in any way. My affairs are in a great shape. Hopefully we’ll get a good alternative for next year and I’m sure we will too. I have no worries about it at all.

At a meeting of the Formula One Teams' Association (FOTA) at Suzuka, a novel cost-cutting initiative for the forthcoming winter period was discussed.

FOTA deputy chairman John Howett told reporters after the meeting that several teams support the concept of organising a single event to officially launch all the cars ahead of the 2010 season. Traditionally, teams reveal their new cars to the world's media at individual events.

But with the new era of limited testing, most teams are targeting the same period in January to have their new cars completed and ready to launch.

Also briefly discussed at the meeting was the issue of unanimously agreeing to allow a guaranteed 14th team entry for BMW Sauber's new owner Qadbak. Sir Frank Williams confirmed his opposition to extending the grid from the traditional 13 teams.

"It's illogical to change the rules suddenly for one extra person," he said, adding that Sauber may still be able to race next year if any of the new teams do not make it to Bahrain next March. "They may have a chance of getting in based on the gossip that's going around," Williams said.

He said his reluctance is also based on the fact that almost nothing is known publicly about Qadbak, a consortium of anonymous wealthy families.

.........................................................................................................
And Mark Webber must be the unluckiest driver going around. To quote the BBC commentator, "If Webber didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck".

1. Massa may not be ready for Interlagos but could make the last race of the year in
Abu Dhabi, says team boss Stefano Domenicali.
2. The circus midget, Bernie, has found himself another popsie to replace the now
incredibly rich and still very tall Slavica. She's a cariocca called Fabiana. Then
again she might just be a paulista.
3. Glock will not race in Interlagos due to injury from Japan.

4. Button may throw his toys out of the Brawn pram at the end of the season - he
thinks he is worth a lot more. RBR might just spoil his party yet.

From the Telegraph on line:

Button will win the title in Brazil if…
- He finishes third or higher
- He finishes fourth or fifth and Barrichello finishes lower than first
- He finishes sixth or seventh and Barrichello finishes lower than second and Vettel finishes lower than first
- He finishes eighth and Barrichello finishes lower than third and Vettel
finishes lower than second
- Vettel fails to finish second or higher and Barrichello fails to finish fourth or higher

Right - have you got that?
Right..........

Errrh I think so? What a fairy tale if Barrichello won it. Out of work last season and now contesting for the championship.

Here is a scenario for the end of the movie, Barrichello is leading with two laps to go, Button is in fourth.. Inexplicably Barrichello crashes heavily,
Button finishes third and wins the championship.
What would the news of the world make of that?????

Felipe Massa returned to Ferrari’s base in Maranello on Monday for the first since he fractured his skull in a qualifying crash at July’s Hungarian Grand Prix. Massa, who got back behind the wheel of a kart in Brazil last week, used the Italian outfit’s F1 simulator, caught up with team members and attended various technical meetings.

It could be either Kubica/ Sutil or Kubica/Glock at Renault and sorry Pete, RBR might be letting Webber go if they can sign Raikonnen. Did Paul Monaghan get to see you in Singapore? He said he would try but I havent seen him yet since he got in from Suzuka.

No he didn't Dave, no message was left either. I would rather have Kimi on my team than Mark if I was the boss of RBR, I'd be doing my best to hang onto Vettal as well.
