USF1 : Ken Anderson? and Peter Windsor have departed and the team has all but folded though Windsor has asked to keep the name open but frozen until 2011.
Having refused a company like Prodrive and admitted this bunch of tossers, the FIA need to look inwards PDQ.
Looks like the Stefan team who sent their garage equipment out already inspite of not having an entry may have got it right after all.

USF1 will have to reapply in 2011 and take their chances with any other applicants.
I think they may have racked up enough costs so far and with no more sponsors and unpaid bills, especially salaries to make 2011 a pipe dream. Oh well. A nice dream while it lasted I suppose.

I wonder how long it wioll be before the HRT Cosworth becomes know as the Patch ?

Questions raised about McLaren's rear wing

McLaren could be dealt a hefty blow ahead of the season-opening race in Bahrain with the news that Ferrari and Red Bull have asked the FIA to investigate the legality of the team's rear wing.

Rival teams are believed to be upset about a nostril above the driver's helmet that diverts air flow away from the rear wing in order to reduce drag, an innovation that reportedly gives the team an advantage of 6mp/h in straight-line speed.

"There's a bit of a fuss over McLaren's rear wing. They have a slot on it [that affects the air flow] and they can pick up a lot of straight-line speed," exlpained Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.

"I think it will get resolved before the first race. We've asked the FIA for clarification although I think Ferrari are probably more excited than we are to be honest.

"Basically, if you stall the wing you take all the drag off it and pick up straight-line speed. It's something that's been done quite a lot over the years but with the wing separators you're not supposed to do that.

"Our question ultimately will be: 'Is it clever design or is it in breach of the regulations'? They must be very confident that it's legal. I would think it will be legal," he added.

With no further testing allowed until the opening race of the season on March 14, any ruling against the Woking-based team could severely threaten the prospects of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

The situation brings to mind the saga that developed last year around Brawn GP, Williams and Toyota's 'double-decker' rear diffusers, which sparked a controversy that largely overshadowed the beginning of the season.

Since they couldn't agree they decided to ask the old man... They approached him and one of the students said to him, "We're medical students and couldn't help but notice the way you walk, but we couldn't agree on the syndrome you might have. Could you tell us what it is?"

The old man said, "I'll tell you, but first you tell me what you two fine medical students think."

The first student said, "I think it's Peltry Syndrome."
The old man said, "You thought - but you are wrong."

The other student said, "I think you have Zovitzki Syndrome."
The old man said, "You thought - but you are wrong."

So they asked him, "Well, old timer, what do you have?"

Your gas joke was first uttered in one of the Carry On doctor films. If I recall the Actor was Peter Butterfield, god know why I remember this...............though it is said that as you get older short term and long term retention ability kinda reverses.

Hi John,
Yes - I think I heard that one in a previous life - I think.
You are absolutely correct about memory and it really does play tricks
sometimes. I eagerly await the moment in time where my short term
fools me into thinking I've scored again.
Enthusiasts meetings - I guess the nearest might be the one in Surrey
which I keep planning to turn up though I havent been an Enthusiasts Club member
for a long time now. There was a reason as to why I don't belong to either
club but I can't remember what it was now. Tony (H) often tries to enthuse me
into attempting to go and I really must try and turn up at one of the evenings.
I'd like to say I am free to go to the Le Mans Classic but even at this stage there is uncertainty. Maybe I'll stay in Paris and pop down on the TGV for a couple of days.
Maybe.
ps - I should have posted it in the Jokes Thread though I probably had a bit too much Guiseppe Marabini's Millenium Riserve at lunchtime. I'm on my last but one case so awaiting Marcus P's trip to the UK to replenish my stocks.

Here are some facts.

On the driver front there are six Germans, four Brazilians, three Spaniards, two drivers each from Britain and Italy and individuals from Australia, Finland, India, Japan, Poland, Russia and Switzerland.

There are only four engine suppliers. Cosworth boasts four teams; Ferrari and Mercedes three each and Renault two.

Renault F1 has announced a sponsorship deal with the Russian car builder Lada, which will see the firm's logo on the car and team overalls.
The deal was signed earlier in the week in Moscow, and was given a public endorsement by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, and follows the signing this season of the first Russian driver to participate in Formula One, Vitaly Petrov to partner Robert Kubica in the team.
Renault team principal Gerard Lopez said, "We are proud to announce this new agreement, which marks another important step for theRenault F1 Team and Formula 1 in Russia. Through Mangrove Capital we have been actively investing in Russia over the last years. We know the country well, we have a high degree of appreciation for it and, as such, it is an honour for our F1 team to spearhead Russia's entry into the sport and to carry the Lada brand at the highest level of world motorsport. We look forward to an exciting and successful season together."

How about a points system and we all put in a few dollars. Probably a lot more satisfying than gt40 drawings. At the end of the season, who ever gets the most points
scoops the dosh.
i.e. my post above - if that's how the championship finished I'd get 10+8+7+6+5 = 36 points and everyone competing sends me their stake money. If Pat won I'd send him my stake money.
