Spains Campos Meta 1 formula 1 team may not survive this week. The chassis they were using is the Dallara which may, instead, be used by another hopeful team Stefan Gp.
It looks as though the road to Dubai is going to be littered with the debris of hopeful teams and circuits.

Except that he has bought the 2 2010 Toyota cars and has backing from Toyota to run them if he can get a slot...

Lotus technical chief Mike Gascoyne says his team is on course to prove its credentials as a serious Formula 1 outfit this year, ahead of a return to the track for the famous marque on Tuesday.
With Lotus scheduled to shakedown its 2010 car tomorrow, ahead of its official launch on Friday, the team fired up the Cosworth engine on its new chassis at its Hingham base on Saturday - six days ahead of when originally planned.
And with Gascoyne delighted at the progress made in the short time since Lotus was granted a 2010 entry, he is happy with the shape the team is in right now.
"It was obviously a big step forward to get the car fired up," Gascoyne told AUTOSPORT.
"The most pleasing aspect of the engine fire-up was that when we got the entry, in our production schedule we had it pencilled in as February 12. So to do it on the 6th - six days ahead of schedule, was a great effort by everyone.
"What makes this so satisfying is that this is a project where everything has been built up from new. Everyone has contributed to the effort."
Gascoyne has openly set ambitions of Lotus ending the season as not only the best of the new teams, but as a serious threat against some of the current outfits.
And although he admits there is still plenty of work to do before the team can achieve that, he is bullish about the performance potential.
"We are looking in really good shape," he said. "We have to improve the pace of our car and the results from wind tunnel, but that will come with time.
"Our first aim was to be on the grid - to be a professional team where everything is to be F1 standard. We definitely will do that. The team will look good and step one has been achieved."

Todt says Campos and USF1 won't make it and have asked for the new three race rule to be invoked - meaning they won't incurr any penalties if they are absent for the first three races.

Once again from Autosport.

Stefan GP has vowed to remain in a state of readiness to move into Formula 1 as soon as it can, despite confirmation that Team US F1 and Campos Meta could miss three races without sacrificing their entry.
Amid continued uncertainty about whether financial problems will force US F1 and Campos to miss the start of the season, it has emerged that the new Concorde Agreement provides a clause stating that teams are only deemed to have failed to participate in the championship if they do not compete in more than three events.
This means that US F1 and Campos could still race on from the fourth round of the season - the Chinese Grand Prix - and leave F1 hopefuls Stefan GP waiting on the sidelines until April 18 despite claiming it has the funds and a car ready to compete from the first event.
And although FIA president Jean Todt has further made it clear that Stefan GP will not automatically get in if either US F1 or Campos fail to make it, that has not stopped the Serbian outfit continuing its preparations.
AUTOSPORT has learned that Stefan GP has just shipped a second container of race equipment to Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysian Grand Prix - having sent previous freight to the season-opening race in Bahrain.
These two containers will be used to cover the team for the first four races of the season should its bid to get an entry be successful.
Team boss Zoran Stefanovich told AUTOSPORT that he believes he is doing the right thing in shipping equipment to cover the first four races - and denies any talk his outfit is after anything out of the ordinary.

With the financial issues that USF1 is having, it appears that they just won't make it. (according to ferrarichat) I was really hoping they would show very well so we have something to root for. However, what is the point of being a USA team with the drivers coming from Argentina and ... I forgot, but out of the USA. What then is the point? the team could be from anywhere else in the world.

I said it back when it was first announced, if it was to be an "All American Effort", why Peter Windsor?Surely there has to be an American who could do the job. I'm darned sure that Mr R. Penske could have.

Argentinian driver? Another nail in the slick....

Shame if they don't make it but somone must have spent a lot of money thus far.. To what purpose?

Were the photos of the facility genuine?

Ron Dennis honoured at UK's first Motorsport Hall Of Fame

11th February 2010
McLaren Group chairman Ron Dennis was honoured on stage last night when he became one of the very first inductees into Motorsport magazine’s Hall Of Fame.

The inaugural event was billed as ‘an exclusive club for the greatest, fastest and most influential figures in the sport”, and took place at Camden’s legendary Roundhouse, a former Victorian steam engine repair facility that has been magnificently restored into one of London’s leading cultural venues.

For the event’s launch, Ron shared the limelight with three fellow inductees – 1950s’ grand prix winner Tony Brooks, sports car legend Jacky Ickx and 1978 Formula 1 world champion Mario Andretti.

The glittering event was also attended by Sir Stirling Moss and three-time world champion Sir Jackie Stewart as well as celebrities such as TV chef James Martin and Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud.

Ron received his award from TAG Heuer managing director Antoine Pin and Pink Floyd drummer and motorsport aficionado Nick Mason.

Ron said: ““People often ask me to list the highlights of my long career in motor racing. Well, by coincidence, I started in F1 in 1966, working for Cooper, the same year as McLaren first competed in a grand prix. It’s a little known fact that, since then, more than 100 F1 teams have come and gone; and, of the teams that were around in 1966, only McLaren and Ferrari have remained. I guess that’s a highlight, and a source of great pride.

"And the success that we’ve had since then has been a source of great pride too – a source of great pride for everyone who works for McLaren, not only me. Of the 665 grands prix we’ve competed in, we’ve won 164 of them, which is 25%, and we’ve been on the podium in 352 of them, which is 53%. So those are the highlights, I think.

‪“But, even more than that perhaps, my passion throughout my 44-year Formula 1 career has been to do all I can to help make this sport as fantastic as it can possibly be. In that context, I’m honoured to have been inducted into the Motorsport Hall of Fame alongside some of the great names of our sport, and am confident that our sport’s future can and will be every bit as glorious as its past.”

Last night’s accolade follows the presentation of the Gregor Grant Trophy for lifetime achievement, which was awarded to Ron at the prestigious Autosport Awards last December

Yes Paolo, They have lost significant financial backers now and about 15% of their key staff who, apparently, don't think their wages will be paid this week. Might as well just cut and run now as I can't think now Windsor can sort it out.
