Greetings From New Mexico

Hello fellow gear heads. I really enjoy reading the posts, especially the ones that refer to the RCR SL-C. I want to build one, but just like most, I've got to clean up prior commitments, and get all my ducks in a row.

The threads that discuss problems overcome are the most helpful, but the threads that discuss the specs builders use to personalize their cars are the most fun.

Thanks to all

Hello VicM, I am sure you will get plenty of info on this site. The SLC is a car I would like in the future myself. I would like to see one and drive one someday. I have offend wondered why it doesn't have its own forum, I guess because there are not enough out there yet. I have seen the a RCR GT40 up close and very very impressed with the quality of the build. It was Dean Lampe #83.

Welcome to the forum. Man I sound like a Wal-Mart greeter. :)

Welcome on board Vic! Several SL-C builders getting closer to completion every day.
Stay tuned for more.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I agree the SL-C is worthy of its own site. Maybe in the future as more cars get built.

Vic,

A hearty WELCOME to the forum! My SL-C is sooooo close to transport from Fran. I will try to develop a builder's log and assure you that I'll get photos along the way.

Thanks Doc,

That's real good news about being so close to receiving your SL-C. It should really scoot with that LS7 in it. I'll be watching for the log and the pic's.

BTW, I see that your home is only about 600-700 miles from mine. I'd be willing to drop by and sweep your garage floor in return for a close up look at THEE car. I'd even bring a six-pack or two with me.

Hi Vic,

You're welcome to come by but I can't ask anyone to sweep my shop floor that hasn't seen what they are up against! Two 6-packs of Negra Modelo will fit nicely into my outdoor beer fridge.....

It may be hard for you UK enthusiasts to think 600 miles is CLOSE but it's a way of life in the deep SW.

Doc

Hi Doc,

Thanks for letting me off the hook for sweeping the shop floor. My garage is probably just as complicated to clean up. But consider the Negra Modelo as if were in the bank. That's the kind my wife likes.

Got to go now. For the benefit of the UK enthusiasts, we're packing for a short 550 mile drive to Las Vegas to attend a Sean Hannity Freedom Concert this weekend.

That's why I like the Ricardo transaxle. It is geared very closely to the T56 in my C5 Corvette. It's not for the top speed. It's for the low RPM's at around 80 mph cruising speeds. You get decent fuel mileage, close to 30 on the C5, but the real benefit is range. I enjoy endurance driving, but don't like to spend time stopping for gas.

With the Ricardo in an LS-C, combined with the 25 gallon fuel capacity and an LS7, I figure I could make the 900 mile trip to my son's home in Visallia, CA in one jump, with only one stop for fuel at the 450 mile half way point.

I meant this to be a short reply, but got carried away. Please excuse the pontificating. I just have strong opinions about what I want a car to do.

My trek with the 40 trailered to Road America from Atlanta was over 900 one way. At about 10-12 miles to the gallon it took a few stops to get there. Set the cruise at 60 and let it go. Took a day and a half or so to get there. You guys must like to travel!!

Bill
