AH Mordechai AKA Faili I do not mind you using my visage as an Avatar, IMHO it is a huge improvement on that of the Iron Sheik and brings a certain added chic to the paddock.

... Transaxles and which vendors where best generated the most conversation on this forum? That was nice.

I know, it is paddock and I don't have to open the thread but these political threads sure get boring after a while. One hopes he tech will be brought back to the forum again. Maybe everything to be discussed has been discussed.

Kevin

No I think that's absolutely fair comment. Zo, let's get back to the cars eh and screw the politics and all that. Cars is where it's at.

I'd like to be first to return the Paddock to a more technical footing with absolutely zero political content, and to this end I've managed to dig out 2 very rare pictures from my Dad's holiday snaps on the day of the launch of the good old VW Beetle! My Dad says that Dr Ferdinand was there but these damned boy scouts keep getting in the way with all their woggles and stuff. You see the Grand Akela in both pics. Dib Dib Dob Dob and all that.

Anyway - 2 versions here - the hardtop (1st photo) and another bloody fat boy scout trying to fit in the convertible version. Do you think it was some kind of Jamboree or something?

By the way, curiously my Dad also said that the guy that took these photos didn't actually have permission apparently, and somehow managed to get himself lost... like, for good... strange.

Quick edit: Actually I'm not so that the smiley guy behind the Top Cheese Scout there isn't Ferry actually... but someone here will know!

Keith is not only very naughty but extremely funny and a great wordsmith.
I wish I had as much journalistic talent as he.
This is not the first time someone has posted wishing to censor or abolish the paddock and the catch cry is always
this is a motoring forum lets stick to GT40's EFI Transaxles etc.
Well by my count on this wonderful website there are 30 sites about motoring
and one paddock.
So just like pay T.V. if you don't want to watch a channel because it is boring
or does not suit your politics, ethnicity, or religion, DONT WATCH IT!
Same applies to the paddock, no one is forcing you to get involved or even go there, so please do not try and censor those including me who wish to express our views on how to run the world, or get a good recipe for chili or Limonchello.

Thank you for the kind words Pete (BTW you're still an asshole and I live in Marlow etc) and you're absolutely right. The Paddock can throw up some very interesting technical and historical facts if you read the posts carefully.

For instance, did you know that in 1872 Muslims invented a condom, using a goat's lower intestine?

And that subsequently in 1873 the British somewhat refined the idea by taking the intestine out of the goat first?

Thought not.

Im surprised that it took the British only one year to work that out...must have been a rush job worth doing....:lipsrsealed:

Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam Spam!

For my part the paddock is fine, but when the forum gets to the point where half the content is repeated propaganda and abuse then the tirade simply becomes spam and should be treated as such (IMO).

There was a period where a particular member was constantly barraging the site with "Obama wants to destroy or kill (insert target for destruction here)" threads, several members made comment regarding the volume and sheer weight of it.

FWIW the member responsible for the angry "Obama is the root of all evil" stuff has calmed down a bit and I for one now enjoy reading his posts.

IMO this area of the forum is not always exactly inclusive or open-minded/tolerant but it is happily a little less exclusive than it seemed to be in danger of becoming.
eg: The latest run of political posting has been quite entertaining although I still think a little "get out of here if you don't agree" in its nature.

It's easy to accuse people of wanting to shut down or censor the paddock but it really isn't that simple. As I said earlier, there is point at which (IMO) some posts become spam.
Spam is the enemy!

To whomever the spelling Nazi was - I am also finding the various misspellings etc in the angrier threads entertaining, but maybe that just says something about small things amusing... :)
BTW as the owner of a dodgy keyboard (on this laptop) I feel for those in similar predicament - frustrating! Whole words go missing on this stupid contraption.

Keith - ROFL!!!!! - Over here that's a NZ/sheep joke. :)
Now, go to your room! :)

Pete - repeat after me: "Paddock good. Spam bad". ;)

Kevin - I'm sure these guys appreciate your opinion and will fight for your right to express it - right guys? ;p

Sincerely

Bastard.

I can't lie, it was me what dunnit guv'nor. It was more to do with the obvious speed of a certain someones posting, which led to my accusation of not thinking before typing, but I may have come across as a complete twat (it has happened before you know :o).

now trie and speel propper like from now on you cunch of bunts.

The Nazi is watching you...

MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA:thumbsup:

BTW, as a potential emigrant to NZ I should state that I find the comment I made to Keith in my last post extremely offensive and I should get the flock out of here!

Not only that Tim. My sheep finds it extremely offensive too!

If you want to be a NZ resident you will have to show your sheep a little more respect, or you could be in for a rough ride;)

I say shut the fucking paddock down and get rid of all the clowns that don't have a serious interest in GT40's. I'm sick of threads being fucked up by shit dribbling smart ass clowns.

I want to talk Transaxles, missfires, door mirrors. Read about racing and build threads.

Dave, did you forget to put a smiley on the end of your post?
