I don't participate much in these internet political debates that occur on car forums. This site: RoadRaceAutoX - Powered by vBulletin is legendary for raucous political discussions. I do read them from time to time to become educated on various viewpoints but I don't join in all that much.

From my simplistic viewpoint the religious right holds too much sway over the republican party. The amount of influence will vary depending on the candidate, however, I suspect that influence is about to increase greatly. Mr. Perry, the current Texas governor, is enjoying a large surge in popularity. Mr. Perry is highly religious and believes in the more mainstream story of Christianity ,while his biggest competitor is a Mormon, considered by many Christians to be outside the faith they are comfortable with.

I could however quote 100's of experts that support my views and others could easily find as many contrary experts. I'll debate these things quite happily without feeling the need to attack anyone who thinks differently.

And wouldn't it be nice, just once in a while, to hear someone has changed their mind? Why do the Media savage a Politician if they do a 'U' Turn? What the hell is wrong with changing your mind? It's this entrenched mentallity that will ultimately send us all back into the stone-age far sooner than any global catastrophy they keep threatening us with.

That all sounds pretty good to me, Pete. I would add that the early sexualization of children has led to a lot of these pregnancies, but the all time number one reason is the lack of a father in the house.

There is a conflict in your statements in that you say a woman has a right to choose what happens to her body vs. I strongly disagree with abortion for convenience. Tough call and thats the loophole that gets abused.
