Coming along.....you must have the patience of a saint!

:) actually I am not the most patient person around! Headlights I decided on forced me to reshape and it was tricky because the lights are bigger below the lenses which means I could not just mold them in. Had to make removable side which I could fit afterwards and then paste over it. Took some thinking and planning. Car chassis is coming along well. Waiting for 2006 E46 rear hubs. Bought new brake rotors today but haven't collected. Using the old ones for mock up. Also using M3 steering column and steering rack. Want to use M3 brake booster but do not know if it will fit.

A good solution when you want to insert such headlights is to wax or protect carefully with large tape top part of those head lights , then mold onto 3 plies of watever strandglass to get the right form and profile ... trim this part correctly once unmolded.
then you can fill your front clip to get symetrical surfaces and areas ( easier than carving the foam to insert totally those lights) , draw a middlle line on the bonnet once you are happy with main forms and finally using the upper molded and trimmed parts you have done , carving just a line all around the perimeter of the part on where you want to locate your headlights .... this carved line will be appear molded on your final mold and will allow you to locate the upper molded parts so you can just fit those inside to the mold upside down with bolts and screws and when doing your laminating of bonnet this will give you the recess where to locate the special box matching to the rear of lights as you are explaining that they are bigger than the top .
This way of proceding allow to have flat mold so you can anytime change your mind and have various different inserts doing various different spaces for various lights and a much stiffer mold ( being totally closed)
Apologise for being so long !
Hope this helps

Ok vi-pec not option anymore.... in two weeks price escalated from $2500 to $3500. South African Rand sucks. Anyway decided to go local and bought a Dictator ecu which is also compatible with Haltech speedometer cluster. So although I have RS6 clocks I might go Haltech. Still have to decide.

Just a quick update. Chassis coming along nicely. Bought BMW m3 cv joints, already have the discs and calipers and hubs. Did get a Links ecu which is the old Vi-pec. LINKS FURY. And can run the vvti which is great. +/- $2630. Still expensive but supposedly best possible option.

Will post some pics soon. Waiting for suspension and wheels to go on and motor and tranny to be dropped in the chassis.

Looks good

Looking at Pic 1 side window and air channel along the door.

They appear to be intersecting so the window cannot be opened / would down

I know in SA I would like to have an open window option for when the AC fails!
