Will it be Prodrive Renault ? Press announcement sometime tomorrow. The staff at Enstone already know as Bob Bell told them last Friday.

There may be a short test at one of the RAF Airfields - Some say it may be Kemble (which is normally Renault country) - or even on the short course around the airfield at Silverstone with a Tyrell/BAR /Honda/Brawn/ Mercedes. The driver - A german guy.
Have a guess?? No answers on a Postcards this time as it's Christmas and the post is going slowly already.

Looks good for the Renault team forseeable future. Is Kubica staying ?
Some, including his manager, say he might not and will go back on the drivers market.
Who is Genii? All will be forthcoming by the weekend but for now - a Luxembourg based venture capital company with interests in motorsport.

Following weeks of speculation about their future plans, Renault confirmed on Wednesday that they remain committed to Formula One racing. The French car manufacturer also announced that they have agreed to sell ‘a large stake’ in their team to Luxembourg investment company Genii Capital.

The new partners plan to run the outfit together, with the team continuing to use Renault engines and race under the Renault name. The deal is set to be concluded in early 2010...

Along with the announcement that Renault F1 will continue to run a team in Formula 1, the company also confirmed today that it will continue to supply engines to Red Bull Racing for the 2010 season.
On the provisional 2010 entry list issued by the FIA, Red Bull is listed as using Renault engines - but the continued uncertainty over Renault's continued commitment to remain in Formula 1 meant that the deal could not be confirmed.

Completely forgot about Rosberg. I keep thinking he's Swedish but of course he is a Herman not a Bjorn. So, can I hedge my bets between Nick and Nico?

Still not wishing to think the unthinkable. HE has had his day, proved his point was never the best anyway, so...

"Bummeln Sie weg!"

From next year, drivers joining a team mid-season may be eligible for a day’s testing prior to racing. In 2009 strict testing restrictions meant Toro Rosso’s Jaime Alguersuari made his Formula One race debut with no F1 experience outside of straight-line aero testing, while Michael Schumacher was unable to sample the current Ferrari ahead of his planned comeback.

Now, if a team declares that one of their current race drivers is to be substituted by a driver who has not participated in an F1 race in the two previous calendar years, one day of track testing will be permitted, on an approved circuit not being used for a Grand Prix in the current season.

In another minor change to the testing regulations, teams will be allowed six rather than eight days of straight-line aero testing per season. They will also have the option of substituting any of these days for four hours of wind tunnel testing with a full-scale (rather than the normal 60 percent-scale) model.

Luca di Montezemolo says Michael Schumacher is set to return to F1 with Mercedes GP.
The seven-time world champion is currently employed as an advisor to Ferrari, the team with whom he won five of his titles, and is an ambassador for their road car division, but has strongly been linked with a move to the firm's German rivals.
Schumacher, who retired at the end of 2006, has so far remained tight-lipped on the matter, but Di Montezemolo informed reporters at Ferrari's Christmas lunch in Fiorano on Thursday that the deal is close to being realised.
"I hadn't spoken to him since Abu Dhabi but I spoke to him [on Wednesday]," Di Montezemolo said.
"He phoned me and he told me that there is a very, very, very strong possibility [of joining Mercedes].

Jock Clear will be Shumachers engineer at Mercedes Gp.
By the way, it was a done deal in mid December.
The German newapaper Bild had it spot on.

(....since now figure me out as Luigi in Cars movie guys..the same..exactly the same, from his garage in Radiator spring on the route 66)

Ok..I place 100 dollars there:
Schumi will be back...ok, he will drive the Bownmerc...BUT BUT..he will loose (as Valentino says.."predere la PAGA") from Nico Rosberg.
If he will not be competitive I am sure the sooo badly hurting neck will be back immediately (also the mercedes is a convertible as the red was)

Will be as Michale Jordan in baseball adventure?

we will see...stay tuned, from luigi's "casa della tire" garage :D
All route 66 and radiator spring is versus him..booooooooo ;)

(OMG...and IF alonso will have the Real ferrari,...60 milions of italians will call him as in the gladiator: Hispanicus...hispanicus..hispanicuss !! HA HA )

On BBC news early this AM, on my way home from work: Schumacher will drive for Mercedes, formerly the Brawn team with Ross Brawn still in charge. Hamilton and Button will drive for McLaren. Schumacher's teammate will be Lance Armstrong. Just kidding.

And although I am not a Ferrari fan, I would like to see Massa win. Hell of a nice guy, and got knocked out of F1 last year through bad luck. Lucky to be alive, too, but I'd like to see him champion. (I am assuming he will come back for Ferrari as although Fisichella is a nice guy too, I don't think he's got it for the championship)

The good thing about the last F1 season was the uncertainty, and the fact that the former champion was hardly to be see in the winner's circle at all. This is the opposite of the period when Ferrari won everything and it all got boring- like the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan. Competition is supposed to involve competition; outcomes that seem predictable or predetermined don't make for a great spectacle.

Well, MS has German roots right? So, maybe it's not about the money (as surprising as that may be) - he doesn't need more money, he's a billionaire - maybe it's about running for the Mother Country, or something like that....

My money will be on Mercedes and MS. An extraordinary driver like MS can make an ordinary car finish first, even in today's F1. Ayrton Senna showed that to be the case (in the late 80s with Lotus), particularly in the wet where driver finess makes an even bigger difference. It's like that in sailboat racing - an old slow boat can be a winner in light winds if the skipper and crew are cunning and skilled.

MS will jump in with both feet. He's a formidable character with tremendous determination and focus - if he sets his mind on becoming F1 champ again I'd give it very good odds that he'll do exactly that.

:poke:Well, Lets not forget how dull it all became while Schumacher had the No 1 on his car. I really hope Vettel:whip: will mount some sort of hatchet job against the Merc of Shumacher :rifle:because even in 2009 many of the races were just a little bit :zzz:
It may be attributed to my advancing years but that was my opinion of this season.

One positive thing that came out of going back to the Beeb :operator: was the disposal of that prat James Allen and some reasonably good commentating back again and NO COMMERCIAL BREAKS. :bash:
