SLC 001 Build

I'm excited for you Rob! Can't wait to see the video.

What size intercoolers are you using. I think I may have went too small...

(2) 10X14X2.5 inch, that may be overkill  but who knows? Even though it needs a tune to get it more in the ballpark, it sounds wicked. Video after a dyno visit.

Getting the masters connected to the chassis was a bit of a task, in such that the braided lines needed to have enough length when all the way back yet the fittings needed to clear the front of the footbox while not fouling or kinking when stuffed all the way forward.

Note: For simplicity sake I remade the front brake hardlines to allow locating them on the outside of the footbox.

When I do some changes to mine this winter, I am going to put the reservoirs back on the master cylinder, I have the slave that way now, but back there the space is not used. If I have to add fluid, or bleed, I have to take the front end off, not a big deal, but its more then just adding the fluid. I have changed mine once already, it was pretty grey. Id like to see hanging pedals also, I will look hard at that this winter.

Milestone event.
This project moved under it's own power for the first time two days ago. Relatively speaking, not far to the finish line. Sorry for the low quality, although somehow it has a certain appeal.

Mamma Mia!

That's hot!

 That put a big grin on my face.
Thanks guys for all the kind remarks, much appreciated. And thanks for your help Cary.

Had to go look back on page 4 for your answer Pat
"The rims are 16W x 20D and the tires measure 15.5W x 28.5D"

Justin - Almost seems a shame to cover all this stuff up, eh? With any luck the body will earn it's keep.

Chasing down an oil leak and then on to installing the intercoolers that arrived today. Maybe then it will be dyno time and possibly some video action to follow.

Cheers.

Rob-I can only say "Wow, that is so friggin awesome. I am jealous!" I live not far from you, but am WAY Behind you in my build process. Seeing your car in motion is VERY motivating. I look forward to your video and tuning updates.

Is your car being built in Sunnyvale/MtView? I had someone tell me he had seen an SLC under construction in or near there.

Tucked away after it's monumental first 100 yards on the road ;)
