Congratulations - amazing feeling getting it on the road I smiled for about a month when mine got to that stage!

Ian

Hi All,

Thank you Ian, Andy & Doug.

I was blasting around the western Massachusetts hills today and had to stop for something cold & refreshing, when I got this idea  for a picture.

I think it look good so I thought I'd share it...

I have yet to weigh the car so I can get accurate performance data from my G-TECH.

When I do I'll post it:thumbsup:

Cheers,
Scott

Nice photo, I think we need to get a camera truck and film 875 going through the twisties of New England. That would be AWESOME !!!!!!!!!

Congratulations again, beautiful job.

So does it fulfill your expectations or exceed them?

Bill H

Hi All,

Thanks Will!

No real Deviation from the build manual, its a "Deluxe Component Package" car with some optional equipment.

Thanks again Bill, yes the car has far exceeded my expectations in both the kit and performance of the finished product.

I have never driven anything quite like it. Its very habit forming and the amount of attention it gets is quite unbelieveable.

Took a few more pictures today of a couple of "Gentlemans Toys"

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks Chris.

Well some more great news for Tornado TS40 owners, I had TS40 #875 weighed today on a Massachusetts state certified truck scale today.

Its accuracy is guaranteed to be within +/- 20lbs.

The car had a full fuel load on board (19 US gallons or approximately 117 lb fuel load)

It is outfitted as follows;

1). 1.75" Exhaust headers
2). Foam filled fuel tanks
3). Wilwood brakes (with integral p brake)
4). Engine oil cooler
5). Dual fuel pumps and filters
6). Single vent front hatch
7). Chrome plated wishbones and suspension links
8). Helicopter vents
9). Front and rear anti roll bars
10). US DOT APPROVED 15" Silver BRM knock off wheels
11). Weber 44 IDF 71's
12). Alloy cyl. heads
13). Alloy water pump
14). Alloy shocks
15). Alloy radiator
16). Rear bulkhead braces
17). Original type curved headlights
18). 3lb Dry Chem hand held fire bottle.

Attached is a picture of the weight printout :stunned:

2120 - 117 = 2003 lbs

Or for my Metric friends, 908.55 Kg.

For those interested, our new Carbon Fiber chassied TS40 with the same build spec will be around 300 lbs lighter:shocked:

I will post some G-Tech data soon.

Cheers,

Scott

Windshield molding... Hmmm... Available to non-Tornado owners? Price?

Loved the entire build - the car is a lot lighter than I anticipated!

Hi Big Foot,

Glad you enjoyed 875's build log, I think I'm going to have to install tie-downs in my garage floor for when a Carbon TS40 kit shows up!

You can easily purchase a seal from your local auto glass installer.

Cheers,
Scott

Well its been a while and today it was nice outside, so I finally decided to get around to the fwd. door close-outs.

This seals out airflow around the door quite well

Left side is identical.

Also pictured are freshly installed IDF heat insulator gaskets. In addition to installing these I lowered the floats 1mm to 11mm.

Took the car out and shut it off without first turning off the pumps, no percolation.

OAT is 60 deg. F.

We'll see how this works out come July.

Scott - How about a run-down on how you did the inner doors and panels...
It looks like the doors were almost carpeted or lined with some sort of gray material... I like it!! ((but then - I like your whole build! :) ))

Hi Randy,

The doors, dash and spider are painted with black/white speckled trunk paint.

The GRP inner door pockets and trim panels as well as the door end closure panels and check straps are included in our "Complete" kits.

Thanks,
Scott

Very nice Scott, your car is one of my fav's. I can't believe how light the car is. I love the pic of your car next to the plane.

Where did you get those IDF heat insulator gaskets from? Also did you polish those carbs or did you buy them already polished?
