Cheers
Frank

You win...

So far I think I might top out at 7 KPH and that would only be for maybe 10 meters if I ate my Wheaties that morning...

When I was at the Ring I saw 145 mph on the speedo but the engine was suffocated by a non cross over exhaust and a too small a Holley. Once they were changed I have subsequently seen 155 mph but to be honest whilst I think my car may go a bit faster, I am happy not to! I keep remembering who built the damn thing! I know others have been quite a bit quicker than this though.

Laser trapped on standing 1.2 miles at 176.4 - and 169 in the rain.... but limited by injectors maxing out at 6100 rpm

Tried again with bigger injectors and an extra 1500 rpm - diff broke....

Tried again with new diff - block broke....

Holy smoke Paul, considering you were in my car at the ring at 145 mph, I didn't know the risks I was taking considering all that damage you did to Roy's!

My speedometer is kind of wacky. It is the electronic pick up off of the axle. Sooo if you can figure 335 45 17's with 4.22 ZF final, at 5800 rpm, thats how fast I have had mine.

How fast do you want to go? How much do you want to spend!?!?!

I think there was a thread on this not long ago with some claimed 190+ speeds, however, I'm not sure all those panned out.

Tom,
Helpful if you have the gearbox high gear ratio too..

Yeah, I really blew it. I replaced the ring and pinion but didn't think to ask the forum here what gears to put in it instead of the stock ones. They seem to work at the track well and 0-60 is realllly fast, but top speed may only be about 150ish is my guess at 6000 rpm.

No idea, at the track days I've been to I've been to busy looking for the breaking marks to worry about the speedo. Quick enough to scare the crap out of me.

I almost hit 100 one time in my GT40 a couple years ago.

An M3 sped up and then passed me doing at least 120. About 1/4 mile down the road I saw one of our friendly State troopers light up and pull him over...ouch...I was very glad it wasn't me.

Speed at 6000 rpm should be 162 mph with a 27" tire dia. and given stock 0.705 5th gear on a 4.22 R&P.

Above 140mph the Dax gets very light at the front end

At Le Mans Classic 2008 I got somewhere near 150mph but by then was watching the road not the speedo

Repeated 140 twice at Dunsfold wings and Wheels 2009 (Need brake markers for any more)
