Republican U.S. House Staffers Indicted for Felony Election Fraud as GOP Fraud Epidemic Continues
MI prosecutors: 'Blatant', 'disgraceful' aides 'lost moral compass', were 'completely indifferent to requirements of law'
ALSO: 10+ recent cases of voter fraud by very high-profile GOPers...

Given disenfranchising polling place Photo ID restriction laws Republicans have enacted in nearly a dozen states over the past year, you'd think there was an epidemic of Democratic "voter fraud" in this nation. That's certainly the way the GOP has framed it, fooled the corporate mainstream media into reporting it.

As it turns out, not only is there no such epidemic of Democratic voter fraud, but the opposite is true. Over the past year, very high profile Republicans --- have each been revealed as having committed or participated in election fraud --- both voter registration fraud and actual voter fraud --- in state after state.

Republican Indiana Secretary Of State Convicted Of Voter Fraud

By Josh Israel on Feb 4, 2012 at 4:29 pm

Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White (R)

Though President Ronald Reagan called the right to vote the “crown jewel of American liberties,” many Republicans around the country have begun demanding increased voting restrictions in the name of fighting “voter fraud.” Though actual cases of voting fraud are so rare that a voter is much more likely to be struck by lightning than to commit fraud at the polls, one Republican official in Indiana has proved that lightning can strike himself.
Yesterday, a jury found Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White (R) guilty on six felony counts of voter fraud, theft, and perjury. The conviction cost White his job.

So,. what's your point? We were talking about voter ID, it's not a radical concept. Proving who you are, if your registered, if you've already voted. ID is easy to get. You need ID for just about everything you do, and voting is the most important thing.

Tom,

My Grandmother emigrated from Scotland when she was 32, became a citizen at 38. She never learned to drive, never got a drivers licence, never got a photo ID. She rode the bus and paid cash, her passport expired in the 1950's.

You want to take away her right to vote?

The BRENNAN CENTER FOR JUSTICE as the NYU School of Law states that as many as 7% of US citizens do not have ready access to photo ID.

Using the 2000 census they estimate that 13 million voting age US Citizens cannot easily produce a photo ID

Additionally, many women, who do have documentation showing citizenship, do not have documentation showing their current married name.

******************

But please, please, keep up this attack on women, the poor and new citizens. I really think just like last time, this will help you win the next election big time. It is really the best way to show America just what the Republican Party stands for. Even better, it also shows which Americans they care about and which Americans they do not care about.

As you know, when faced with unreasonable legislation and unfair challanges, Americans have always just given in...............................YOU WISH!

Wtf are you talking about! How does asking for I.D. Which is free and easy to get, become an attack on women the poor and new citizens?
From an outsider looking in the only reason one would push for no voter I.D. Is to allow fraud to continue.

OK Pete,

You say its free and easy.......................................

Tell me how easy is would be for my Grandmother who does not drive to get a photo ID? She does have citizedship papers, from the 1920's, but no photos. She has an expired passport with a photo from 60 years ago...................

Pete, now suppose she has re-married, and her name does not match her paperwork from the 1920's.........................free and easy?

Pete if you really think that will be "free and easy" you really don't know much about US bureaucracy.

But then thats the idea isnt it? The Republicans know it is far from a "FREE AND EASY" process, they do not care, they want it to be hard, they want it to be impossable!

You see Pete, unless they can limit voteing to just angry old white guys, they have no chance!

These Republicans are very clever

********************

Now if you multiply that by 13 million Americans of voting age who do not have a photo ID then we have a problem!

Even if half can take the time to fight their way through Pete's "free and easy" process, that still leaves 7 million legal US citizens denied the right to vote.

Say Pete, do your native Aborigines need photo ID and proof of Citizenship to vote?

Come on Jim, your source is from a Brennan Center report. A radical, left-wing nature of the Brennan Center or the fact that it is an advocacy organization that is litigating against voter ID.Their figure was 5 million figure (not 13) and is completely speculative and not based on any substantive evidence. In fact, the experience of states such as Georgia and Indiana, whose voter-ID laws have been in place for years, as well as reputable surveys conducted by academic institutions such as American University, consistently show that the share of registered voters who don’t have a photo ID is less than 1 percent. This is a far cry from the high numbers the Brennan Center has been claiming since 2006.

I'm glad your Grandmother is well. She must be because she would need an ID for prescriptions, a bank account, air or sea travel, driving, a credit card, securing employment, purchasing or renting a house, cash transactions of $5000.00 or greaterS, and taking advantage of the sales tax exemption for people aged 80 and above.

Prelawsuits filed by liberal groups against both states contesting voter ID laws, none of the plaintiffs, including organizations such as the NAACP and the ACLU, could come up with a single witness who was unable to vote because of the voter-ID laws. That is why their cases were eventually thrown out and the Supreme Court upheld the Indiana statute.

The idea that large numbers of “young people” lack photo ID is just ridiculous. Teenagers can’t wait to get their driver’s licenses, and college IDs are acceptable under the voter-ID laws of most states.

OK Pat,

What numbers do you have?.........1% really?

How many legal US citizens do not have current photo ID and proof of citizenship.

I have a drivers licence, but no proof of citizenship. I was not born in the US, can I vote?

***********************************

I really think you Conservatives have the right idea, with approximately 50,000 Hispanic Americans turning 18 each month and with way more than 50,000 old Consevatives leaving us each month, in no time you will be marginalized!

Thanks for your concern, My grandfather worked for Pan Am, he had all the ID needed to do the things you mentioned.

But Pat, she has voted for 70+ years, now are you really saying screw her, she cant vote?

Research Update
Voter Photo ID Law Court Cases Utilize ETI Research

A research report by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Employment and Training Institute on The Driver License Status of the Voting Age Population in Wisconsin
This was cited by Circuit Court Judge David Flanagan as one basis for a temporary injunction against Wisconsin's new voter identification law. Flanagan quoted statistics from the ETI report showing the relatively low percentages of minorities possessing a driver's license: "In Wisconsin 45 percent of African American males and 51 percent of females possess a license. As to Hispanics, 54 percent of males and 41 percent of females have a Wisconsin license." He also noted that many elderly persons aged 65 and older do not possess a drivers license or DMV-issued photo ID. The injunction was issued on March 6, 2012, and based guarantees to the right to vote included in the Wisconsin state constitution. Flanagan later issued a permanent injunction against the law. A permanent injunction was also issued against Wisconsin's voter ID law by Circuit Judge Richard Niess on March 12.
********************************************

So Pat, if as they say: "In Wisconsin 45 percent of African American males and 51 percent of females possess a license. As to Hispanics, 54 percent of males and 41 percent of females have a Wisconsin license." He also noted that many elderly persons aged 65 and older do not possess a drivers license or DMV-issued photo ID.

So Pat that means that:

55% of black males do not have photo ID
49% of black women do not have photo ID
46% of Hispanic males do not have a photo ID
50% of Hispanic women do not have photo ID

Pat, is Wisconsin also a radical left leaning state who's data cant be believed?

Tell us again about your 1% of US voters without photo ID?

What percentage of them have mail boxes, Jim? A P.O. box? A "general delivery" address? A friend or family member to whom they can have / DO have their mail sent?

Then they can e-a-s-i-l-y GET a govt I.D. mailed directly to them for F-R-E-E to use at the polls.

Good gallopin' KRYMUNY, Jim. Take off the blinders... :po:

Jim, maybe your grandmothers wonderful grandson could take a photo of her and pick up the paperwork and help her fill it in correctly? And then mail it for her. Ever thought of that?

My guess most of the Hispanics are illegals so don't want I.D. Btw are illegal immigrants allowed to vote in the U.S.?

Larry,

Are you saying that anyone can E-A-S-I-L-Y get a valid ID, All you need is a mailing address and ask nicely and they well send you an ID.

Larry you say its E-A-S-Y, do they need to prove who they are, do they need to prove they are a citizen.

Larry how do they do that without a photo ID?

Larry how do they do that without proof of citizenship?
