Talking to my friend in Imola, Luigi Landi, last night, all he knew was Pier was quite ill for a while but what from he didn't know. 66 years old is young IMHO -i'm 66 this year as well !!!

It is amazing how much is and will be forgiven when you are really good at what you do. The anointed one has no remorse and will do it again,he already knows he is bigger than the team.

Webber is one of the more likable fellows on the grid, and the equal of anyone out there. Save for his inexplicable inability to START his car. Weird.

Sebastian Vettel has warned Red Bull that he is likely to ignore team orders again and also claimed that his decision to do so in the last grand prix, in Malaysia three weeks ago, represented revenge for what his team-mate Mark Webber had done to him in Brazil last year.
The bullish Vettel could scarcely have been more different to the contrite, apologetic figure who said sorry to Webber and the entire team after ignoring the coded "multi 21" instruction from the team principal, Christian Horner, to stay behind the Australian in the last race, overtaking his team-mate to win.
The three-times world champion flexed his considerable muscles even more ominously on Thursday when he was asked whether he would flout team orders again. He said: "I am not sure I can give you a proper answer, because in the moment it might be different, but I would probably do the same.
"Had I understood the message and had I thought about it, reflected on it, thought what the team wanted to do, to leave Mark in first place and me finishing second … I think I would have thought about it and I would probably have done the same thing."
Vettel then suggested that his overtaking at Sepang was payback time: Webber made life difficult for him in the final race of last season in São Paulo, as he battled desperately to retain his crown. Webber was also more competitive than he was told to be at Silverstone in 2011.
Vettel said: "After all that's happened in the past few years, Mark didn't deserve to win." When asked if his action was a response to what happened in Brazil he said: "You could say that, indirectly.
"Being completely honest, I have never had support from his side. I have got the support of the team and I think the team has supported us the same way.
"In terms of my relationship with Mark, I respect him a lot as a racing driver but I think there has been more than one occasion in the past where he could have helped the team."
What a pathetic spoilt brat Vettel has turned out to be. I blame Red Bull management for his attitude, Vettel now knows he is in charge of the team and can do as he likes with no comeback on him. Red Bull management are as weak as piss.

Very interesting Pete. Probably does explain his actions but says a lot about his post race comments. He couldn't think of the right excuse at the time but his management have had time to dream one up now that could be plausible. Snag is this really weakens the team. Bet McLaren and Ferrari are rubbing there hands in glee. You cannot deny Mark is guilty to a degree for pushing hard in the past when perhaps he should not have. But this is a new level so now we have our feud for the year. All pr is good, even bad pr. How many column inches will be written on this? A lot.

I don't get any of this. You don't pay guys millions of $$$ to "follow orders", if that's what you want, pay them peanuts.
Would Piquet have fallen in behind Mansell or vice versa?

Would Senna have given way to Prost or vice versa?

I have a suggestion that would change the game comprehensively. Do away with pit to car telemetry and radio comms. Leave comms. to pit boards only.
Take away the 30 or so guys sharing the cockpit with the driver and then you'll see true champions.

What pisses me of about the current situation is Mark had turned the wick down
On his engine assuming that Vettel would being a man of honour would follow the multi 21 call. That is why Vettel made up three seconds on the lap.
He ambushed Mark so cannot claim he won fair and square. He is a total shit.
Horner is also piss weak.
The only way to stop team orders would be to limit the teams to one driver.
