A terrific win by Mark Webber. If he hadn't had the drive through penalty he would have won by a much greater margin. The win is even more commendable in view of the injuries he sustained in his cycling accident during the winter which are by no means completely healed.

I did mention it in the Ashes thread Russ, I thought the drive through penalty was a bit soft.
A great result for Mark after eight years of being an also ran. Its also good to see that Ferrari and Mclaren appear to be making progress also. An interesting season so far despite the politics.

Absolutely.. It is now going to be a very interesting season. Great quotes from Mark, just after he crossed the finishing line "YEEHAAR you F**King BEWDY". No idea what he meant by that? Maybe thanking the crew that the strategy worked?
And at the after race press interview "The biggest problem we have at Red Bull is finding a Trophy cabinet."

I'm wondering what everyone thought of Lewis wanting to park the car?
The team told him to STFU and keep driving. But here we have the reigning world champion wanting to take an early shower. I said previously that he was acting like a girl and I think this confirms it.
Then maybe he just wanted to get home early to Nicole!!

Given that they have to make the engines last two races and the gearboxes three - I thought it made sense.

Why on earth would you want to hammer around in last place, using up the engine and gearbox?

With the undertray damage that Webber caused he was not fast anyway.

Added comment- of course the sponsors do like to see the car out on the track, so on that basis he shoud have kept going!

I was until the lying episode, not because he lied, but because he blamed the team. Everyone in motor sport looks upon the rules as "for the guidance of wise men and to be followed to the letter by idiots". (I can't remember who said that) In other words, everyone is looking for that edge, if it means bending the rules they will try.
Brawns interpretation of the diffuser rule is a prime example. They could just as easily been DQ'd as been leading the championship.
If Lewis had copped it on the chin I would have more respect for him than I do now. The silly kid should have realised that the world can listen to his radio transmissions.
Wanting to park the car also shows a certain lack of character, IMHO.
Having said that I have no doubt he is a great talent and hey he is out there doing it! I'm just sitting in the armchair!.
