F1 in 2013

But, perhaps there is some early team strategy in play with WO4. LH certainly has an abundance of explanations for his performance in the new car. Some of them may actually be true!

Given that Rosberg's 04 actually caught fire on track perhaps it has not started very well. But Hamilton's run was only for photogs not testing, so it is difficult to read anything into his downbeat comments.

BTW Jenson only managed 3 laps before the old fuel pump problem raised it's head - again.:worried:

I had to laugh at Hamilton's comments about the controls though, I mean he has had a lot of trouble for the last three years with ONE button, never mind a whole host of them

The Mercedes apparently had a minor electrical problem.........
Caused by a piston exiting the motor and taking out the wiring loom.......

Good article in (of all places) the New Yorker, last week, on Adrian Newey; I'd forgotten he is a GT40 owner, although evidently a bit of a wild driver. Still, to own one and race it on track.... very nice diversion from his "serious day job".

The official F1 Video Summary of the 2012 season... fairly well done and pretty impressive on a large screen with the volume cranked up.

After all the silly pre season hype, realism is setting in with button and his previous team mate. They just don't have machines that can take the bull by the Horn(er)
And I will go so far as to predict the first four or five races as a total runaway by RBR.........

It certainly looks that way, although Lewis was quick yesterday. Melbourne will tell all.
An old saying but true, when the flag drops the bullshit stops.

Apparently a few high profile f1 people might be be 'coming out' this season.
Nothing wrong with that so I've been told.
I wonder who they might be?

Rumours abound but Ross Brawn will leave Mercedes after this season.
Lowe will be on gardening leave for the duration of 2013 so only moving north from Woking to Brackley to the merc team next year.
I suppose there is one consolation - loads of property in the Brackley area available and compared with Woking it's petty cash. I wonder if the HS2 (high speed rail link between London and Birmingham) has blighted property there as it has done everywhere else ? I could sell my garden shed in Marlow and buy a mansion in the country around Brackley.

There used to be a run down little wooden electrical shack in the middle of a farm field that was within view of US 101 in southern "Silicon Valley". There was a sign across it that read "Fixer Upper - $500,000". Unfortunately, at the time it was not too far from the truth.

Yeah I know the new V6's will be nothing like the old one's, but we can dream about it. The attached paper is a good read.
