Veek, READ THE INDICTMENT. Word for word. Every American should.
This is probably the key statement in the dossier. I'm not talking about the pissing prostitutes and all that (although as every day goes by and just what a piece of crap our President is as a person comes out more and more), I'm talking about what Steele was really concerned about. This:
“The TRUMP operation was both supported and directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Its aim was to sow discord both within the U.S. itself, but more especially within the Transatlantic alliance.”
Also, small point, you are quoting Hannity when you say Steele was fired by the FBI. No, he wasn't. The FBI stopped using him as a source because Steele got frustrated with their pace and went to other news sources.
Did the Clinton Foundation do anything wrong? Despite years of investigation, no.
Unlike with the Russia investigation.
Jeff, re-read my post. You didn't answer my question. Please provide any credible source that "A fair amount (of the Steele dossier) has been proven to be true."
Of course the Russians (Putin) are seeking to sow discord in out political system. That's why they had operations against Mrs. Clinton AND Mr. Trump. They will continue to do so. Read the Slate article I posted.
As for Mr. Steel's departure from the FBI, I was referencing the House Intel Committee memo and the senate criminal referral against him. Your timeline is also incorrect. (Per the Washington Post) "By the fall, Steele "became concerned that the U.S. government was not taking the information he had uncovered seriously enough," according to the report.
In October, Steele and the FBI reached an oral agreement: "He would continue his work looking at the Kremlin’s ties to Trump and receive compensation for his efforts," The Post also reported the deal came as Steele feared that funds would dry up from the original source. Subsequently, according to the House "Nunes Memo", "Steele was suspended and then terminated as an FBI source for what the FBI defines as the most serious of violations—an unauthorized disclosure to the media of his relationship with the FBI in an October 30, 2016, Mother Jones article by David Corn. Steele should have been terminated for his previous undisclosed contacts with Yahoo and other outlets in September—before the Page application was submitted to the FISC in October—but Steele improperly concealed from and lied to the FBI about those contacts."
You make it sound like he was an honorable citizen who simply resigned.
As for the investigation of the Clinton Foundation. Like the Mueller effort, it is still under investigation and if you believe there was no impropriety, The Whitewater Development Corporation has some beautiful property in Arkansas you may like. ;0
On a serious note, I'm glad you're participating Jeff, your insights are always interesting. Of course I rarely agree with them but the perspective is often intriguing.
