Larry's a good soul, Rod...he's just stuck back in the 1700's as far as his political foundations. The world is well beyond that now...

As I always say, we're all entitled to voice our own opinions. Thank goodness (and America) for that!

...and just remember what they say about "opinions"...

Cheers!

Doug

No, actually he's not.

Interesting that those protesting against Trumps border protection and immigration policies don't realise that one of their heros not so long ago proposed something very similar.

No, actually he didn't that was different, not a ban, not based on religion, and directed at a specific set of problematic refugees who needed additional vetting.

More false facts from the right. Yay boy!

Where's the Grand Dragon, I mean Mike? We need him to weigh in on the last weeks events. How will the constitutionalist defend a President flaunting it, the Equal Protection clause, the Due Process clause and the courts?

Oh wait, I forgot, most constitutionalists can't read the Constitutoin much less understand it.

Thread temporarily closed until we figure out what do do here.
There has been far too much vitriol in this thread and while two days worth is now missing thanks to a crash and database rebuild - it still reeks..
Do NOT attempt to open any other political threads or they will be deleted and the thread originator will be dealt with.

Re: GT40s.com Paddock Politics Thread - Temporarily closed

First and foremost - this is an automotive forum - not Facebook, Twitter or some other place where you can air out your laundry.

We are going to give this thread just one more chance.

Any more venomous vitriol here will result in time-outs and subsequent bans (regardless of your level of support or lack thereof).. This includes name-calling, use of profanity, et al.

The moderators will determine if the infraction is deserving of the time-out / ban.

In the roughly 35 years I've been involved with BBS / forums / newsgroups / chatrooms, I have not yet seen anyone change someone elses political or religious opinions...

Now you can agree to disagree, or continue arguing your point - but you will be doing it in a much more respectful manner, or you can take it to PM or email....

Then close the thread, doesn't seem that complicated.

I find myself defending a thread I don't like (although sometimes the more extreme among the contributors make me laugh).
Anyway -
As long as it stays in this thread I have no issue with what happens here although I do find it sad most of the time.
Larry's text formatting alone makes it all worthwhile. :)

Tim.

Perhaps if someone did a survey of members who were regular paddock followers say 3 years ago and compare it to those active now it might make it easier to decide on its fate.

What ever, it is so f------g boring and anybody coming to the forum will be so pissed off. I left for a while because it had all become so tedious and in all honesty it's much worse now. I cannot think of a single word of praise about this and anything else in the paddock. The rest of the website seems to regulate itself by the headings but the paddock --? For F--ks ake. Are you grown men or tossers?

Yeah, David...agreed.

I was OK with the political thread until the anger/unpleasantries ensued...then there were some who seemed more interested in insulting people than in discussing the political challenges our country is facing.

I do enjoy hearing about the political issues the Europeans are facing, too...BREXIT and all intrigues me. You Brits really seem to have fine honed the practice of discussing politics without insulting each other...I admire that!

Are you crazy? I'm sitting in a pub in Cambridge right now listening to a bunch of liberal brits rant and rave about Brexit and Trump. The name calling in this thread pales in comparison! It's really just one wanker in this thread that takes his blood pressure into the danger zone when sharing his nonsensical ramblings and nobody cares what he thinks anyway.

Randy, is this an infraction? Can you please start moderating here with this member? Thank you

The only infraction here is that people who have no interest in gt40s or supporting the site with any technical contribution, are allowed to foul things up with political tripe. You guys have fun for the next 8 years utilizing the site's infrastructure that I helped pay for and you did not, contributing nothing to the gt40 community. Spledid!

Lol...so wrong, and he has no clue. Seriously, if the mods are going to moderate, then do it. This guy didn't last 24 hours before he started with the name calling, again.

If you want to talk about politics here, please do.
If you want to complain about the job that I and the other Moderators do, please feel free to PM me.
I am not going to discuss it here further.

Mike, what I remember is this post of yours from ClubCobra:

You can park your Kirkum by my beautiful GT40 just not too close ok. Go join the paddock. There are several guys on there that take this internet arguing stuff as serious as you do.

That sounds like an invitation to me, no?

Give up a 991 GT3 for a Superformance GT40? - Page 19 - Club Cobra

I also remember you insulting Cobra, Porsche and Ford GT owners and their cars in that same thread over at ClubCobra. What did you contribute, whether technically or financially, over at ClubCobra? Nothing! Those who live in glass houses...., man.

Finally, I remember you challenging an original 1960's Cobra owner (#3170) to a race and then you weaseled out of it when you realized he still successsfully races his Cobra at various tracks in the US.

Mike, you are an internet troll. We were all warned not insult each other and then hours later, you insult someone.
