Today the painter came and had a look at the car and will put a price together.
He knows what is expected of him as he has painted many of my motorcycles. I marked areas of the car that I think need attention such as gaps, uneven areas etc. Most cars will need priming and blocking off to get rid of ripples and uneveness and mine is no exception.
Pictures show where the Gurney bump was fitted and how this distorted the shape of the door top a bit, but it's no problem.
I have opted for high intensity spot lights under the headlamps. These are smaller than the originals but now have an ally ring surround which will be polished or chromed.
The painter is Pete, " Pete the painter " of Mech Spray.
In the seventies Pete painted all of the original Thunderbirds, Lady Penelope's Rolls, More than one Batmobile, Currently doing work for Mc Claren and even the big seats for TV 's Big Brother.
