Ron, did you end up installing the 3M protective film on the nose and elsewhere? I'd hate to see any chips in that beautiful green paint.

I just passed 15,000 miles and my front end looks as good as the day it left the Superformance factory. I also covered my entire rocker panels. Can't tell the film is even there.

It shows in pics of 1028 and 1043. I’ve seen it in other photos, so looks like it was standard road car issue. This is a crop of 1028 from the 60s or 70s

OK
The heater quadrant on P1028 is from an Austin Healey so the vent might be from the same car.

I think what you might have there is the AC section cut from the radio console of a 1968 Thunderbird or similar.
There was not a lot of Brit cars with AC at the time so I think it came from a Fomoco US parts bin.
Shelby Mustangs had similar grilles at the time but there is no push pull air volume knobs that I can see on those so I suspect that they might be on the quadrant.
P1028 has an FAV Slough fitted Smiths road car heater fitted on the scuttle and there is a secondary Smiths fan and plenum fitted in the footwell for the AC unit. There is a whole lot of weight in the FAV heater and plenum box. I can weigh my one if you want but it is probably much the same as the modern SPF AC workings.
I presume that they upgraded the original Alternator to cope with the extra amps at the time.

I’m almost sure it is a vent from an aftermarket Underdash AC unit from a company called James Mitchel. A Mk IV unit to be exact. They were a popular aftermarket add on in the early to mid 60s.

Neat !
And the heater quadrant on P1028 is definitely MGA.
Below is a handbrake lever from the road car.

Thanks to JimmyMac and a little tinkering on my lathe.

Got Mark IV vents on the way. Going to convert the Superformance AC to a period look. Waiting for a quote on a road interior. Coming together.
